HOW DO I BOOK A VIEWING?
  • A viewing can be arranged by appointment only
  • Duck Point does not schedule viewings on days where functions have been booked. This include Sundays and Public Holidays
  • Office hours: Monday to Friday – 09h00 – 16h00
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
  • The provisional booking will be held for 5 days and then released without notice
  • A 30% non-refundable booking fee of the total package cost and the signed Booking Agreement will be required to secure the date
  • By paying the 30% non-refundable booking fee of the total package cost you automatically indicate your acceptance of the Duck Point Venue terms and conditions
HOW DOES PAYMENTS WORK?
  • A 30% non-refundable booking fee of the total package cost and the signed Booking Agreement will be required to secure the date
  • The final outstanding balance and additional extras to be settled three weeks (21 Days) prior to the wedding day
  • The final invoice will include a 00 breakage and contingency fee. The breakage and contingency fee will be refunded within 14 days if there were no breakages and overtime
  • Only direct bank deposits or transfers will be accepted as Duck Point does not accept credit card or cash payments.
WHAT IS PLANNING AND COORDINATION PROCESS?
  • Our wedding planner will assist with the onsite planning and coordination of your ceremony and reception
  • There will be four consultations to plan your wedding day:

-Site Viewing

-Suppliers Meeting

-Mock Table & Menu Tasting (If required)

-Final Meeting

  • Consultations, mocks and tastings will only be done during office hours (09h00 – 16h00)from Monday to Thursday due to weddings or functions taking place over a weekend
  • Duck Point is proud to be an “One stop Shop” and can assist with any request.
WHAT IS THE ACCESS AND CLOSING TIMES?
  • ACCESS TIME

-The bride and groom will have access to the property from 11h00 on the day of the wedding

-Earlier access can be arranged depending on availability

  • CLOSING TIME

-As per our agreement with our neighbours functions at Duck Point will end at 24h00

  • OVERTIME

-The venue can however be booked for an extra hour at R4000.00 until 01h00. The music will however be turned off 24h00

DO YOU HOST OUTDOOR WEDDINGS?
  • Outdoor weddings can be hosted at Duck Point Venue. There will however be additional costs for an outdoor weddings (Tents, flooring, draping, lights, tables, chairs etc)
  • Duck Point Venue do not accept responsibility for outdoor weddings and the bride and groom remains responsible for any costs involved should a radical shift in the weather affect the planning and execution of the wedding
DO YOU HAVE ACCOMMODATION ON SITE?
  • Accommodation for up to 34 guests (17 Couples)
  • A minimum of 10 rooms must be booked on the night of the wedding

  • Rates are based on 2 guests per room and includes breakfast for 2 guests
  • Bookings, payments and room allocations are managed by the bride and groom

-Check in strictly at 14h00

-An early check in can be arranged at R350.00 per room (Subject to availability)

  • CHECK OUT

-Breakfast is served from 08h00 – 09h30

-Check out strictly between 09h30 – 10h00

-A late check out will incur a fine of R350.00 per room and will be deducted from the breakage and contingency fee

-The main gate will be closed at 10h30

  • The closest area to Duck Point is Sasolburg. We suggest that guest visit the lekkeslaap.com website for guesthouses in the Sasolburg, Vanderbijlpark or Vaalpark areas.
ARE CHILDREN WELCOME AT THE DUCK POINT VENUE?
  • Children are welcome at Duck Point
  • Do take note that Duck Point Venue is situated on the banks of the Vaal River, have 2 swimming pools, fish ponds and fountains at the venue
  • Children must be supervised by an adult or child minder at all times
  • Child minders must be arranged by the bride and groom or the parents of the children
HOW DOES THE CATERING WORK?
  • No external or private catering will be permitted at Duck Point
  • A buffet or plated menu can be selected. There will however be a surcharge of 00 per table for a plated menu
  • A menu tasting is recommended and can be arranged at 00 per person
  • CHILDREN

-Children under the age of 12 with an allocated seat will be charged the full package price

-Children under the age of 12 seated in a separate are will be charged R650.00 per child

-No charge for children under 3

  • SUPPLIERS

-Suppliers with an allocated seat will be charged the full package price

-Suppliers seated in a separate are will be charged R750.00 per child

-This includes: DJ, photographer, videographer, child minders etc

  • Special dietary requirements can be catered for at additional cost (Halaal, Kosher etc)
WHAT IS THE BAR ARRANGEMENTS?
  • The bride and groom are required to brief Duck Point regarding the bar arrangements
  • OPTIONS

Bar Limit – A bar limit set and settled by the bridal couple

Cash Bar – Guests pay cash or credit card

  • Last rounds will be called at 23h00 and the bar will be closed at 23h30
HOW DOES DÉCOR & FLOWERS ALLOCATION WORK?
  • Each wedding package has a décor allocation within the package. The allocation will only cover the standard décor for a table of 10 Any décor or floral items not mentioned in the selected package will be an extra cost
  • The date of the wedding, type of flowers, amount of flowers, type of décor and amount of décor will determine if there will be a surcharge

A mock table can be arranged at an additional cost. This can be discussed and arranged at the first consultation with the décor and floral stylist

WHAT ARE THE RULES REGADING DJ, SOUND & AV?
  • The sound system and DJ must be SAMRU and SAMRA If they do not have these accreditation documents they will not be able to work at Duck Point
  • As per our agreement with our neighbours the music volume should be reduced to an acceptable level after 23h30 and will be switched off at 24h00
  • A maximum of 85 decibels are allowed from 23h30
WHAT IS THE SUPPLIER REQUIREMENTS?
  • Suppliers arranged by the client must adhere to the rules and standards of Duck Point. This includes make-up artists, hair stylists, photographers, videographers etc
  • Suppliers must provide their own equipment for the service they provide. This includes extensions, multi plugs, two-point plugs etc
  • Photographers and videographers must be dressed according to the dress code or wear black. Jeans, t-shirts, short sleeved shirts and bright colours will not be allowed
  • Priests, pastors and marriage officiants must be dressed according to the dress code. Jeans, t-shirts, short sleeved shirts and bright colours will not be allowed
  • Duck Point does not have a restaurant and do not provide room service. Catering for suppliers must be arranged at the final consultation with the Chef
WHAT IS THE SMOKING POLICY AT DUCK POINT VENUE?
  • Legislation prohibits smoking in public areas. All accommodation and public areas including venues at Duck Point have a non-smoking police. Guests are required by law to smoke in the designated areas
IS WEDDING INSURANCE NESSESARY?
  • It is the bride and grooms responsibility to arrange wedding and liability insurance for their wedding
